When resizing an image in Grayscale, please remember these things:
Users wait no more than 15 seconds for a page to download.
Image resolution is no more than 72 pixels.
Most clickable images measure about 90w x70h or so, and weigh no more than 3 or 4k.
If you have an RGB, or INDEXED mode image:
1. Choose IMAGE; MODE; GRAYSCALE.
2. A box will open asking if you want to 'discard all color information'. click 'ok'.
If the image is a Bitmap:
1. Choose IMAGE; MODE; GRAYSCALE.
2. A size ratio box will open. click 2.
3. Choose IMAGE; IMAGE SIZE;
Change resolution to 72. Click ok. The size of your image is now 98w x67h at 7k. You can now adjust the size accordingly.
To sharpen the picture:
1. Choose FILTER; RENDER; UNSHARP MASK.
2. Guess what? Usually, what PhotoShop calculates does the trick!
3.When the UNSHARP MASK box opens, click 'ok' or adjust the levels a few pixels at a time.
THEN:
1.Adjust the AMOUNT to about 20%, The RADIUS to about 1.0 pixels, and the THRESHOLD TO 0 levels.
2.Remember, you can always choose EDIT; UNDO if you don't like the results!
Good Luck!
